Domestic Violence

Introduction

The text that I’m going to elaborate it’s about the “Domestic violence” that is one of the most common social problems in Mexico and has existed for many years.

I choose this topic because I believe that it’s really important to have an atmosphere of peace and tranquility; enough is enough with trying to survive a world increasingly carefree, to have to come home and deal with a hostile environment.

In our home it is where we learn our behavior, the way we act in school, in church, or in any place we go. As it says, we mirror our parents.

And sometimes it’s even worse, sometimes the violence can be physical, and it can involve the whole family, normally the father or both parents fight with each other and with their sons too.

The domestic violence can be avoid with just telling someone out of your family about it, or in drastic cases, with the authorities; but in most of times, people involved in it, are afraid to telling anyone, and this fear is what keep them into the problem.

Sometimes each one of us live only by itself, not thinking of what happens in other people’s lives, sometimes we just can’t imagine the horrified things that make one boy be really shy in school, or been too aggressive with his partners, most of times we don’t know the reason of that behavior, it needed to talk with this person about it, of course sometimes that person do not want to talk about it. One of the most common reasons why kids have this behavior is the social problem called “Domestic Violence”

The definition of this term is “Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive and coercive behaviors including physical, sexual and psychological abuse, as well as economic coercion, that adults or adolescents use against their partners” - Anne L. Ganley

Unlike violence between strangers, in domestic violence assaults are repeated against the same victim or survivor by the same perpetrator, normally people who are related to them.

In the Domestic Violence the most common pattern is a man against a woman, husband fighting with her wife, but it happens with the children too, often abused by sexual abuse and verbal and/or psychological actions that can be committed by both sexes. Being the effects of the economic crisis the main reason why there is domestic violence.

Here in Mexico, the government offices have reported high rates of violence. Are believed to be related to unemployment and stress levels produced by growing poverty, which is one of the indicators of domestic violence.
