Chairwoman: Good morning everybody thank you all very much for coming today to the first formal meeting for the project.

Chairwoman:  you all have received a copy of the agenda, haven’t you?

Everybody: YES!

Chairwoman: Ok, now there are just three things on the agenda today. The principal objectives in the agenda are the following:

First of all we need to discuss the style, the production and the fee about the shaker.

Secondly,  the sampling of the alga, and decide who is going to get the sample, because the vacations are soon and we have to decided who is going to be in charge of getting it.

And the last point is very important.

We have to propose alternatives to get money to pay the material we had broken and lost and also to make the shaker and buy all the materials that we need to do it.

So, we're going to begin by reviewing the shaker. As you all know last meeting, I asked you to bring information and a general fee of the material you think is the most appropriate to build the shaker.

I would like to begin with Berenice’s point of view, so, Can you show us the information that you bring for today?

Berenice: In my opinion to build the shaker we need to use plastic materials, because they are easy to manipulate, and they are cheaper than others, besides I think we have to use a motor to get a constant agitation. Do you remember we need to include devices? I have a sketch of the reactor and based on it I estimated the fee of a shaker of 2 L of capacity with a value of $2000.

Chairwoman: mmmm I think that’s a Little bit expensive, Does anybody have a better offer?

Linda: Well I know a company that sells glass containers that might be a good option. I think the size they manage is acceptable and most of the characteristics we need are fulfill. They use valves to regulate the outflow. We would only have to modify it a little bit to make it the ideal reactor. They calculated the general fee, that included the motor, the glass container and the valves for $1500

Daniel: Pardon me, but I think that we should buy a plastic container because It´s better in all ways, If We buy a glass container We would have to cut the glass or get a person that has the kind of tools necessary to do the changes on it. I think it´s more expensive and difficult.

Chairwoman: Ok, we have two options about the materials for the shaker. One is plastic materials and the other option is to make it of glass.  So let’s vote. Please raise your hand if you agree. Who is in favor of the plastic materials? How about of using a shaker of glass?
