It is a method of rehabilitation that was born in Italy at the beginning of the 70s as a result of the work of the neurologist Carlo Perfetti and his collaborators, It is commonly known by its creator's name, but its real name is Cognitive Therapeutic Exercise (ETC). This method has evolved parallel to the neurosciences and continues to evolve today. For this reason, throughout history it has been acquiring different forms and names that reflected the essence of the work of each stage of its development. it was called Superior Cortical Facilitation, then Progressive Sequential Control until it was called, for now, Cognitive Therapeutic Exercise, the intention with this name is to show the importance of the activation of cognitive processes in the process of recovery of movement.

The method was born to try to recover satisfactorily the hand of the patient with hemiplegia, one of the sequels of the stroke and tries to recover the deficit functions in an integrated and personalized way. The treatment is programmed always taking into account the type of injury and the problems that each patient presents. After a neurological injury, recovery of movement is of vital importance considering the possible deficits of sensitivity, language, attention, memory and capacity for representation, since these  deficits are responsible for the alteration of the movement. To learn to move correctly again, the different sensibilities of the body are worked on (touch, movement of the joints, pressures, weight). To achieve this, the patient must pay attention to the information of his body without resorting to sight during the exercises. It is aimed at all those people, both children and adults, who have suffered or suffer a neurological or traumatological injury and as a result of it have lost or have altered certain functions such as walking, manipulating objects, etc.

It was necessary to carry out a pilot test of the evaluation format, which allowed to measure each of the aforementioned scales, before and after the application of the neurorehabilitation program based on the perfetti method, said program, which was reviewed and approved by the committee. The ethics of the Vice-Rector for Research of Manuela Beltrán University, prior to its application, was developed over 20 sessions, with a frequency of 3 times a week and an intensity of 45 and 60 minutes. On the other hand, as regards the ethical aspects of the investigation, all the participants signed the informed consent as demanded by the current law, which made it clear the object of the study, the possible complications and the possibility of resolving any doubt along thesame or if you want, the possibility of abandoning it.
