El aparato reproductor femenino está formado por los ovarios, las trompas de Falopio, el útero, la vagina y la vulva. La vulva comprende el conjunto de los genitales externos: labios mayores, labios menores, orificio vaginal y clítoris.

Ovarios

Órgano par, situado en la cavidad peritoneal y unida al útero a través de las trompas de Falopio. Su función es la producción de óvulos y la secreción de hormonas sexuales

Trompas de Falopio

Estructuras tubulares que se extienden desde los laterales del útero hasta la superficie de cada ovario. Sirven como vía de transporte de los óvulos desde el ovario hasta el útero.

Útero

Es un órgano muscular hueco, situado en la pelvis, entre la vejiga y el recto. Se divide en cuerpo, istmo y cuello.

La pared del útero presenta tres capas: una serosa externa (peritoneal), una capa muscular (miometrio) y una capa mucosa interna (endometrio).

En el útero se produce la implantación del óvulo fecundado y el desarrollo del feto durante el embarazo.

Vagina

Se extiende desde el cuello del útero hasta la vulva y actúa como conducto de eliminación del flujo menstrual y canalización del esperma.

The female reproductive tract is formed by the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina and vulva. The vulva includes all of the external genitalia: labia majora, labia minora, clitoris and vaginal opening.

Ovaries

Body pair located in the peritoneal cavity and attached to the uterus through the fallopian tubes. Its function is the production of eggs and the secretion of sex hormones

Fallopian tube

Tubular structures that extend from the sides of the uterus to the surface of each ovary. They serve as transport of eggs from the ovary to the uterus.

Uterus

It is a hollow muscular organ located in the pelvis, between the bladder and rectum. It is divided into body, neck and neck.

The uterus wall has three layers: an outer serous (peritoneal), a muscular layer (myometrium) and an inner mucosa layer (endometrium).
