CRITICAL READING

   Critical reading is defined as “a process characterized by careful and exact evaluation and judgment” or “to judge a matter severely”. This kind of critical analysis must be taught with reading material used in the classroom. Critical reading goes beyond the basic prerequisite of general comprehension skill by making fuller use of analytical thinking processes. This prerequisite is the need to determine from many sources the best thinking on a point in question or area of study. According to many reading authorities. Critical reading skills should be taught through the newspaper whose editorial policy reflects one part’s point of view or whose slant on the news tends toward the sensational limit the degree to which reading materials can be critically analyzed.

   Most reading teachers think that critical reading skills should begin to be taught at the preschool reading readiness level. Here pictures can be interpreted and put in sequence, details noted, generalizations made, and relationship determined.

   Critical reading skills must continue to be taught throughtout the elementary and high school years, as one never really arrives at perfection in these skills. Basic to continuing instruction is the necessity for numerous opportunities for students to express their ideas openly and freely. Critical analysis of material cannot be conducted in threatening situations in which the teacher does not allow for differences of opinion and belief.

ANALYSIS OF CRITICAL READING

   You can say that critical reading is a kind of deeper analysis, is not based only understand what a text says but also to have an accurate assessment of what the author meant. With critical reading should determine a great thought as to what an author wants to communicate in order to have a consistent view on the subject.

LECTURA CRITICA

   La lectura crítica es definida como “un proceso caracterizado con cuidado, juicio y evaluación exacta” o “para juzgar un asunto grave”. Este tipo de análisis crítico debe ser enseñado con un material de lectura utilizado en el aula. La lectura crítica va más allá del requisito básico de la habilidad en general como de comprensión más completa haciendo uso del proceso analítico. Este requisito previo es la necesidad de determinar a partir de muchas fuentes el mejor pensamiento en un punto en cuestión al área estudio. De acuerdo con muchas autoridades de lectura, las habilidades de la lectura se debe enseñar a través del periódico cuya línea editorial refleja un punto de vista o partes cuya inclinación en las noticias hacia el limite sensacional y el grado en que las materias de lectura pueden ser analizadas críticamente.

   La mayoría de los maestros piensan que las habilidades de la lectura crítica se deben comenzar a enseñar en el nivel preescolar para la preparación en la lectura. Aquí las imágenes pueden ser interpretadas y puestas en secuencias, señalar detalles, las generalizaciones hechas y las relaciones determinadas.  

   Las habilidades de la lectura crítica deben tener continuidad a lo largo de años de primaria y secundaria, ya que uno nunca llega a la perfección en estas habilidades básicamente para la instrucción continua es necesario numerosas oportunidades para que los estudiantes expresen sus ideas abiertamente y libremente. El material de análisis crítico puede ser conducido en situaciones de peligro en la que el maestro no permite diferencias de opinión y creencias.

ANALISIS DE LA LECTURA CRÍTICA

   Se puede decir que la lectura crítica es un tipo de análisis más profundo, no se basa solo en comprender lo que dice un texto sino también de tener una evaluación exacta de lo que el autor quiere dar a entender. Con la lectura crítica se debe determinar un gran pensamiento en cuanto a lo que quiere comunicar un autor para así tener un juicio coherente sobre el tema.
