The Best Gift of the Prince

Long time ago in an enormous castle lived a lonely prince, who always wanted to find a woman to share his life. His father, the king, made an announcement to the entire kingdom. “The day of my son’s birthday is coming in seven days, and the girl who gives the best present to my son would be his wife, and the queen of this castle, you all have seven days to get the best gift, good luck to everyone.”

Every woman in the kingdom was crazy about this announcement, and the hunt for the best gift started. By the third day, every store was empty, no more things to buy, was the news of the century in the kingdom and every girl wanted to impress the prince.

The day of his birthday came, every woman of the kingdom was there, even from other cities and few from foreign countries, everyone was excited to see who would be the lucky woman that the prince will choose. All the gifts were spectacular, he was opening them, and the new one seems better than the last one. Clothes, jewelry, chests full with gold, diamond rings, horses, a 120” 3D TV, vine from Spain, elephants from India and so many more. That was a dream with all those gifts, but he saw one in special, it was a pretty and small handmade box, the prince proceeded to open it, and he noticed something, there was nothing in there, it was completely empty. Of course he didn’t understood what was happening, and he asked to call the woman who was making fun of him. Few minutes later the butler found the responsible of that gift

“Can you explain me why did you made fun of me with this empty box?” said the prince with a high tone.

“Sorry your highness, but I’m not making fun of you, you have all the gifts you can imagine, every single women from this kingdom gives you something, even from other parts of the world, but I saw many people living in poor conditions, some of them didn’t have food nor clothes, so I decided to give them something instead of you.” Said the girl in a nervous tone.

The prince just listening to the sweet voice of the girl and her great generosity, apologize and knelt with the face down and one hand at the back showing respect. “I don’t care how you look on the outside, I just saw how are you in the inside, you are different for all the other girls in this kingdom, and will be a pleasure for me if you come and with all this money and gifts that I just received, we help other people that really need of this”, the prince said, “would you marry me?”

The girl knelt and then stands holding the prince hand, “I would love to”, said the girl.

Both looking at each other eyes kissed sweetly and announced their engagement and together they distributed all the gifts of the Prince to the entire kingdom.

And they lived happily ever after.
