1.4.1 The ecosystem

Two of the most serious problems that human beings face with regard to natural resources are the climatic change around the world and the deterioration of the ozone layer . This is mainly due to changes in consumption patterns ( using hydrocarbons and destruction of vegetation cover ) .

The decisions we make affect consumer demand for basic raw materials , transportation , manufacturing, banking, distribution and waste we generate.

Environmental policy and management of natural resources worldwide are grouped into three main stages :

a) The corrective approach . Actions focus on combating pollution and resource degradation . This is a policy developed during the late seventies .

b ) The approach to management of natural resources and natural systems. It begins in the early eighties, though mixed corrective action .

c ) The prevention policy. It starts towards the end of the eighties and is in a stage in a stage of new formulations. Strategies previous two approaches are maintained

1.5 Consumer protection

The Federal Consumer (PROFECO) is a decentralized and independent public agency of the Ministry of Economy of the Mexican Federal Government. It was created to promote and protect the consumer rights

t was established on February 5, 1976 with the publication of the Law on Consumer Protection

1.5.2 Consumer rights

The 7 basic consumer rights 1. Right to information All.information.of.the products and services that offer you must be clear and truthful

2. Right to education know your rights and how the law protects you, for smart consumer

3. Right to choose Anyone can push you in exchange for buying something you do nzot want or require payments or advances without having signed a contract.

4.-The right to safety and quality The products and services offered on the market must meet standards for safety and quality

5.The right not to be discriminated When buying a product or hire a service, they can not discriminate or treat you bad for your sex, religion, economic status or nationality

6. The right to compensation If a seller will sell a bad product or does not comply with the rules, you are entitled to it will replace or to get your money back

8. Right to protection When a seller does not respect your rights or commit abuses against consumers,
