Assignment 1 Doing business in America.

• What do you personally think of globalization? How does it affect your everyday life and your professional aspirations?

I think the poor countries can’t get the progress because the rich countries exploit them. In my country the goods and services are too expensive because USA increases the dollar.

• Is the process fair to all or most countries? Why or why not?

Most of the countries get benefits enough but it doesn’t fair to the poor countries like Argentina, Spain, Dominican Republic, etc. Because like I said it before, the get exploited.

• What is your stance on the work done by the World Trade Organization? Does it do more harm than good?

The WTO try to keep the order between the international commerce, I mean it can be a threat for the local business but not for the foreign commerce.

• What economic good has the globalization done for Mexico? Are we better of? Maybe a more competitive country?

The foreign exchange can be the principal source of the capital of Mexico. And it can be a competitive country.

• Is the re a price we have to pay in order to fully embrace the globalization process? Perhaps a cultural tradeoff?

In Mexico the globalization change the Mayan culture and the Mexican traditions, we used to be more “Mexicans” than today. Nos we buy American clothes, cellphones, etc. We don’t promote the Mexican culture anymore.
