Objective:

Learn to create replies.

Procedure:

1. I went to the platform Blackboard.

2. I read the explanation of the topic 15, talking about making inferences.

3. I went to the page 245 of my book and read all the information from the column of the Student A.

4. I proceeded to create the Student B replies from using unreal conditionals.

5. I wrote my conclusions.

Results:

STUDENT A. STUDENT B

1. Many of the world’s poor have no access to capital, so they cannot start or grow a business. 1. That’s true. If the world’s had more capital, the poor people could have access to many opportunities

2. Matt and Jess Flannery were determined to make a difference in the world, so they started the Kiva.org website. 2. Yes, I know. If they had some sponsors, they could go so far with the program

3. I heard a compelling broadcast about Kiva on the radio last month, and now I am a microlender. (mixed) 3. Oh, i see. So if you had higher profit margins you would have applied to help more poor people.

4. Julia Meendez’s husband died a year ago, and she struggles to support her six children alone. (mixed) 4. Hmmm. . . but I think even if her husband hadn’t saved any money, she might be supported by some insurance that engaged.

5. Julia did not even have 50 dollars to buy the cooking supplies she needed, so she couldn’t start her business. 5. Yes, if she had some savings she could afford start her business without struggle.

6. I had faith in Julia, so I decided to lend money to her. 6. Yes, of course, If you had some money and faith in her, you could lend the money.

7. Julia repaid her initial loan this week and is now feeling really confident. (mixed progressive) 7. Uh-huh. You know, if she is now debt free. She'd be working for herself now.

11. Yunus is a charismatic leader, so he was able to persuade many people to believe in his vision. (mixed) 11. True. Some people think that if Yunnus had higher profit margins, he would have applied for others missions.

12. Yunus listens to critics who mention the pitfalls of microfinance, and he continues to improve the system. 12. That’s good. If he had good intentions, he could afford improve the system in a better way and with the support of the people.

13.In general, men are not good risks as borrowers, so they are approved less often for microloans. 13. Really? So do you think that if men were more trustable like the borrowers, they could get better microloans?

14. One micro borrower didn’t repay her loan, so her group members can’t approve any further loans. 14. That’s too bad. If she had more caution, she could avoid these problems.

15. The micro borrower had no literacy or job skills, and so her business hit a ceiling. 15. Yes, that is common. If she hadn't gotten neglected their knowledge, she couldn't have touched the limit.

16. Three of the five borrowers in the group failed the exam on the banking policies, so they can’t join the microfinance program. (mixed) 16. That’s unfortunate. If they had higher results, they would have applied for the microfinance program.

Conclusion:

The present unreal conditional is used to express a present (or future) condition. We call it unreal
