SS follow the routine and get engaged in the switching process.

SS apply basic social and emotional skills relating with peers.

Greet students introduce myself .

Reinforce daily routine structure. Greet students with week’s song: “Good Morning song”. Invite them to sing along.

Review Weather FC. Take class out to check on today’s weather conditions. Point at each flashcard while naming it. Go back to class and sit around the calendar and weather chart. Give students cards and ask them to observe these. Then, if needed, help them pick the one for today’s weather.

Do calendar and ask students to share their names with pears again.

SS recall and identify colors.

Use FC to review basic colors. Teacher shows them flashcards and they have to say the color. Then teacher asks them to make a circle on the floor and will play “hot potato”, children pass the ball to each other and that one who keeps the ball names their favorite color. Then teacher changes the question to: favorite animal, favorite food.

Children write their name, draw themselves and their favorite:color, food, animal.

SS practice oral skills and use English to communicate.

SS share feelings and apply corresponding vocabulary.

SS apply basic social and emotional skills relating with peers.

Start class as usual. Identify day, date and weather conditions. Play song “Good Morning Song” and show a Complete weather chart.

Talk about Feelings. Introduce chart and have SS identify 4 different feelings and invite them to identify the way they feel. Include these in Daily Routine from now on.

Use AMCO flashcards to introduce basic classroom vocabulary (table, desk, crayon, pencil, scissors, lunch box, glue, board, table, chair) to SS. Children tag classroom objects.

Role-play to promote recognition and comprehension of symbols. SS “act” symbols out.

SS use English in class and practice oral skills. SS practice the switching process and memorize basic vocabulary.

Start with the weekly song. Have students identify day, date and weather conditions. Register accordingly.

Play Musical Chairs to foster gross motor coordination and start class with a fun activity.

Start with a quick gross motor activity. Students dance along the music and do some gymnastics to raise their attention span.

Then, complete daily routine by identifying day, date and weather. Focus on Feelings. Reinforce manners.

SS use target structure “May I” to ask for permission.

Use flashcards and poster to introduce target vocabulary. Once identified and practiced, SS match pictures to real class items.

Introduce flashcards pictures to introduce and/or review target structure “May I” (go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, have lunch and, go outside). Use concrete objects to practice activity. Paste flashcards on board and ask students to pick one while using “May I”.
