SS follow the routine and get engaged in the switching process.

SS apply basic social and emotional skills relating with peers.

Greet students introduce myself .

Reinforce daily routine structure. Greet students with week’s song: “Good Morning song”. Invite them to sing along.

Review Weather FC. Take class out to check on today’s weather conditions. Point at each flashcard while naming it. Go back to class and sit around the calendar and weather chart. Give students cards and ask them to observe these. Then, if needed, help them pick the one for today’s weather.

Do calendar and ask students to share their names with pears again.

Start class as usual. Identify day, date and weather conditions. Play song “Good Morning Song” and show a Complete weather chart.

Talk about Feelings. Introduce chart and have SS identify 4 different feelings and invite them to identify the way they feel. Include these in Daily Routine from now on.

Promote writing and reading skills by discovering the ABC.

Use ABC flashcards to review and sing the ABC rap song. Give each S a card with his/her initial (first letter in his/her name). SS identify this letter and attempt to give examples of things/animals/places that start with same letter.

Pre-Activity:

Children open book on page 1. T asks children what they see on the picture. Have them guess what the unit will be about. Do they ride the school bus? Who takes them to school? What do they see on their way to school? How do they greet their friends in the morning? Have children color school bus.

Activity:

Children open book on page 2. Ask children to talk about what they see. How are the children greeting each other? Have children repeat the dialogue. Refer to Teacher's Guide to complete the activity.

Post-Activity:

Ask children how they feel on their first day of school. Do they like going to school? Do they have fun with their classmates? Are there any new friends in their class?

Pronunciation Lab

Children will build social skills and practice greeting each other

Pre-Activity:

T asks children if they remember how they greeted each other on the previous activity. How did they greet their friends this morning? How did they greet their teacher? Did they say "Hello"? Did they wave their hand? T may show children how to say "Hello" in different languages. Example: Hola, Bonjour, Guten Morgen, Ciao.

Activity:

T will play "Hello" song track 9. Ask children if they enjoyed the song and if they can help showing dance movements. Children will open their book and Twill play the song again while they sing along.

Post-Activity:

Discuss with children the importance of greeting people.
