You may have been the victim of the scam of a moneymaking practitioner. Choosing alternative medicine is a waste of time, money and an unnecessary risk.

Physicians are the only ones prepared to treat a health issue, as their activity is regulated through several processes. By contrast, alternative medicine is completely outside of this system. As a result, if someone shows you a fluid that can cure cancer, he is surely lying. In other words, CAM practitioners have no knowledge about medicine. Therefore, receiving treatment by them is a waste of money and time. However, is not her fault being deceived by her own mind to think the treatment was effective. The power of mind can be so strong that it can even relieve body pain on a person that believes strongly in the effectiveness of a CAM treatment. Nevertheless, if it’s a serious illness, pain relief is just temporary, and it may strike again at any moment, with a more developed disease. Many CAM practitioners use long testimonials to convince ignorant patients that their treatments are effective, and they believe them and pay them.

On the other hand, alternative medicine may be useful in some cases, like stomach aches or muscular pains. Mainstream science even may be incorporating some treatments of alternative medicine that are proven to be beneficial. For example, osteopaths use massage in the National Health System. In spite of this, never use alternative medicine to treat a serious illness such as cancer or hepatitis, because science based medicine is the only one able to save you from those diseases.

To sum up, science based medicine is the best and only way to treat serious diseases, because it guarantees that is not a con; and medical doctors are the only ones with the ability to help you, even though your mind tells you that an alternative treatment is being useful. Be careful when choosing where to treat a disease, especially if it’s a serious one, because if its alternative medicine you may be wasting money, time, and risking your life.
