Home schooling

Albert Einstein said “The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” In many cases just the fact that children have to go to school is a problem, they don’t feel comfortable leaving their houses and their parents. I remember that when I was a child, my mom used to teach me at home how to count, read, to make adds, etc. by the time when I had to go to school I already know all the things that it was supposed to learn, even though, I was excited to go to school end meet new friends. The days were passing, and I started to feel weird, boring, and I was no longer excited about anything. The principal decided to move me to the next course, and it was ok, just for a week, after that period of time, my new teacher started to teach divisions, all my classmates were ready to take that step, but not me. So I felt out of place again. Luckily we moved out to another city, and my mom was able to find a new school that satisfied my necessities. But not everyone have that chance, plenty of children are frustrated because that have to deal with all the problems that implies going to school. My nephew, for example, since he is going to a new school, he is sad, he doesn’t have as many friends as he used to have, the kind of children that go to this new school are more aggressive than the other school, in addition the schedule he has now is full time, so he feels like his mother is not taking care of him anymore. That is why I think that Home schooling is a great option for those parents who want to provide moral instruction, specialized education and protect their children from the school environment.

When parents are in charge of their children’s education, they decide what kind of values, massages, and information they are going to teach. Most parents are disagreeing with the information and moral behavior that surround their children, “… As home school parents you have the opportunity to guide your children in developing moral behavior that will be an asset to them and to society.” When children are within a family environment they will learn what you do, not only what you say; parents who are in charge of their children education most behave the way they teach. Nowadays, children are more exposed to violence content in TV programs, movies, games, between friends, magazines, etc. is more common to watch a movie about war and discrimination than one about love, friendship etc. because those kind of movies are consider boring. But if you are willing to teach moral principles to a kid, you can find some TV programs, movies and games which promote those values. It is not easy to find a guide who provides moral instruction to children. Some parents are not comfortable whit their children learning moral principles from a person who barely know. Only parents can take the responsibility to teach their children those values that they consider important, like respect, honesty, loyalty, love, compassion, etc. 30% of the parents who has chosen home schooling as an option, had make that decision based on what they want for their children to learn about moral behavior, and the appropriate moral awareness children will develop when they turn adults. Moral instruction is not the only benefit of home schooling; personalized instruction is an advantage that this kind of teaching brings with. There are plenty of children who just can’t fit within a scholar environment, not only because of the social skills, but for the education system. Some kids just need more attention, patience, and comprehension that teachers, in many cases are incapable to give because of the amount of children they are in charge. Providing home schooled education, parents are more aware of children’s necessities. Kathy
