Test on the Bench

If the test bench can be run at 6900 kPa (1000 psi) and at full pump rpm, determine the percent of flow loss with the above formula.

If the test bench can not be run at 6900 kPa (1000 psi) or at full pump rpm, run the pump shaft at 1000 rpm. Measure the pump flow at 690 kPa (100 psi) and at 6900 kPa (1000 psi). Use these values in the top portion of the following formula. For the bottom part of the formula, run the pump shaft at 2000 rpm. Measure the pump flow at 690 kPa (100 psi).

Shaft Bearing Preload Adjustment

1. Perform this procedure when you install a new swashplate or bearings.

2. Assemble the pump swashplate, the shaft, the bearing and the shim.

3. Install the cover and tighten four head bolts.27 ± 3 N•m (20 ± 2 lb ft)

4. The clearance must be 0.0 to 0.05 mm (0.0 to .002 inch).

5. If necessary, change the shim in order to achieve the proper initial clearance. Reassemble the head bolts and torque the head bolts. 165 ± 30 N•m (120 ± 20 lb ft)
