Mustang History

The story began when Ford wanted to make a sport car and not heavy because the European cars were small and they were doing big and heavy cars Ford could do powerful cars. Ford wanted a make a car for four people with bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter but Ford decided to use many parts of the Ford Falcon in the Mustang as will be expensive to create new parts and pieces.

The Mustang was introduced to the public on April 17, 1964 causing much success and sales for Ford. The first Mustang was two versions; the coupe and convertible. Both models Available with 101 horsepower, 6 cylinder engine, 164 horsepower 8 cylinder engine, 210 horsepower and 8 cylinder engine. In the first 12 months, Ford sold close to 417,000 Mustangs. The first generation finished in 1973

The competition in those years was the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Challenger and the AMC Javelin, all these cars were the similar type “Muscle cars” to explain this term the muscle are generally “Americans cars”, sport, heavy, big, with a powerful engine.

The second generation of the mustang began in 1974 y Ford decide to take the ford pinto to use how base. This generation finished in 1978.

Exist the third, fourth and fifth generations normally Ford changes the appearance, to increase the power and add things to look well to have more customers.
