Computer and office machine repaires

Take care of computers and other business machines, such as copy machines fax machines cash registers and typewrites.

They hook up the machines in offices and homes. Sometimes they check to make sure the machine is running properly. When the machines break down they fix them.

Some repaires have to work at night and on the weekend. They usually work in clean well lit places. They have to do a lot of lifting and bending. Job safety is very important since they work around electricity.

Disk jockeys or deejays put music on the radio

These announcers choose what songs are played and talk about them. They also talk about the news, sports and weather. Sometimes they do commercials, talk whit guest, and talk about what`s going on in the community most often they work inside a small, soundproof studio. They talk 5-6 days a week on the radio, for about four hours a time. The hours are irregular. They also have to prepare the show, and sometimes they work at schools or community events.

Librarians

Help people find facts. They organize information and help people locate what they need. They choose and buy books and magazines and arrange them so that people can find them. They often work in teams. Some librarians work in one subject such as art. Others read stories to children. Librarian work in schools and public libraries. Today libraries also have computers. Librarians may develop data bases for use in these computers. They work inside and spend most of their time at the desk. They also spend time helping people. They sometimes work on weekends or evenings.

Urban Planners

Show the best way to use the land in cities, they report on the best location for houses stores, and parks. They try to solve a lot of problems, such as too much traffic and increases in air pollution. They are concerned about saving the wetlands and trees. They try to find safe places for getting rid of trash. They research how many people will use the services and listen to advice from people in the community to make their plans. They use computers to make reports and draw maps of the future.

Planners spend a lot of time in the office but they also spend time outside researching. They often have to meet people, sometimes in the evening or on the weekend.

Mechanics fix machines

Aircraft mechanics fix engines and other aircraft equipment. Auto mechanics fix car engines and other parts. Diesel mechanics fix engines in trucks and other heavy equipment. Some mechanics work one on type of machine. Others have skills for many machines types. A mechanic must be able to find the problem fast. This requires skills experience
