PRESENT

FUTURE

Conditional sentences with if clauses (oraciones condicionales con if)

Formula:

Possible situation + simple present + consequence + future with will, may, or might.

If you get a high-paying job, you won’t have to work as hard.

(si tu consigues un trabajo bien pagado, tu no tendrás que trabajar tan duro)

If you don’t have to work as hard, you’ll have a lot more free time.

(si tu no tienes que trabajar tan duro, tu tendrás más tiempo libre)

If you have a lot more free time, you might get bored.

(si tu tienes más tiempo libre, tu podrías estar aburrido)

If you get bored, you may have to look for another job.

(si tu te aburres, es posible que tengas que buscar otro trabajo)

CLAUSES WITH BECAUSE

The word because introduces a cause or reason. (la palabra “because” introduce una causa o razón)

I would make a good journalist because I´m good writing: (yo podría ser buen periodista porque soy bueno escribiendo)

I could be a teacher because I´m very creative. (podría ser maestro porque soy muy creativo)

I wouldn´t wont to be a teacher because I´m very impatient. (no megustaría ser maestra porque soy muy impaciente)

I Could never be a stockbroker because I can´t  make decisions quickly. (yo nunca podría ser un corredor de bolsa porque no puedo tomar decisiones rapidamente)

Nota: cuando se utiliza “because of” el verbo se pone en gerundio (studying, working)
