The rol of burocracy in society

Burocracy works in order to provide public services to society, its sustainability comes from government and burocracy helps it to fulfill its goals.

There are some services by nature vulnerable, which are directly, related with the general welfare such us: education, health, and security and because of their characteristics of vulnerability, government tries to cover them mainly, leaving no much room for the private business.

In case these vital services are administrated by private hands, these goods have in general a low elasticity, meaning that a variation in their price doesn´t cause a significance variation on the consumed amount, so firms can take advantage and derive in dishonest market practices such as: raising the price, monopolies, oligopolies, etc.

The size of burocracy depends principally of the government type. If it is a regime in the capitalist line, it will try to privatize the majority of services, in such a way not all people can accede services. When burocracy gets increase extending the domains of government, this implies other kind of problems such us: loose of freedom for consumers, spends growth and mainly corruption. The amount of people working in public administration gets increase such a way it turns out incontrollable, meaning that it turns out very hard to control the activities, responsibilities of thousand of people.

Conclusion

Given that the amount of burocracy can become a incontrollable estructure, and that the majority of institutions created by government do not produce material benefits and that in long term it gets harder to sustain it. There should be only the enough amount of workers to guarantee the quality and quantity in the basic services.

Furthermore, the excessive presence of paternalistic government and its institutions, work against the consumers freedom, because government, with these intentions, propends to appropriate the services, which are provided by private firms,
