MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY SECOND LANGUAGE: ENGLISH

My experience about the learning a second language, in this occasion English I consider in general it was a lot traditional because my teachers only they dedicated to teach grammar and memorize about that.

So when I was in third of basic school our teacher used a methodology that consist in copy in the table and the students in your notebooks and once in a while repeat some words after her.

After when I was in fourth grade I changed of school and in this school we had a book name wonderful, this book included good topics that in each class we must work and develop in house too, but in general only you must memorize and copy in the notebook. In that way fourth and fifth grade we were study with the methodology.

The other hand when I was in the sixth grade I had a shining teacher, who care for his students learning English. Really he was an excellent teacher because not only work grammar, also listening and speaking. He did different activities related with contents that we must to learn in this grade; inside his activities are read a books in English, see a movies, dialogue between groups or with a partner, definitely very didactic your class, and thank to him until today I like the this language or I mean he was my motivation for that.

To continue I can say, pitifully for a seventh grade I change to school and in this school I feel that to went back at the traditional method and in this occasion it was worse because the teacher he couldn´t speak in English, he only copy the grammar in the table or we had to make photocopies and develop and in this consist the class of this teacher.

So, is when I decided take a curse about this language in the “Colegio Mayor del Cauca” and in this institution I learned a lot grammar, but in this point the speaking or listening regrettably isn´t good. However I learned much vocabulary and in this moment the bases that I have Is for this institution or your teacher who in some way or another because we care about their students would learn. Your methodology consisted in read a books or worked a book in this it had grammar and an extensive vocabulary.

Now in this moment I found in the university studying a carrier related with the second language, English, but pitifully during the first semester we didn´t learn absolutely nothing about that. And actually we are with a lot mistakes in the different skill of this language (grammar, listening, speaking and reading).

To conclude I can say for the learning a second language is very important that we have making since children a type of learning where we have motivation, and together the teacher and our classmates shared different experiences related with our context and in the future we can speak interact with the other cultures. And is indispensable in all moment as a teacher we make in mind that the priority is
