Introduction

In this Biography project I chose the famous African American rapper Aubrey Drake Graham. Because I think in this report I will show you more of his personal life and not just the famous rapper everyone knows. Also he is my favourite singer and I've followed his career for a long time and it will be a great experience to learn more about him.

Aubrey Drake Graham

His real name is Aubrey Drake Graham but best known as “Drizzy Drake” or “Drizzy”. He was born on October 24, 1986 in Ontario, Canada. His mother name is Sandi Graham (Canadian) and his father Dennis graham (African American). He’s parent got divorce when he was really young and that is one of the reasons he has to mature really fast. To help his mother. He’s actor career start at the age of fourteen in the TV series Degrassi Generation. He also do the voice of Ethan in the movie “Ice Age”. Drake begin to write songs at the age of ten when he begin to go with his dad for the summer. In 2009 Drake sing with the record label of his friend Lil Wayne and later got his first official album call “Thank Me later”. Right know he already has three albums and one Grammy.

Drake childhood was not easy when he’s parents got divorce he suffer some struggles. He was having spent much of his childhood struggling to define his identity as he straddled two very different worlds: the white Jewish upper-class community in Canada, and the African American community in Tennessee. Drake spent the academic year with his mother going to Jewish day school, but each summer he journeyed to the United States to spent time with his father in a predominantly black neighbourhood. He quit high school because it became the opportunity to become an actor. But after all does difficult event thankfully he became what is now. He earn his high school diploma at the age of twenty four. Became a famous rapper with his own record label name OVO. Even his own clothing brand.

Also drake help others with his money and support. For example Drake, donate $22,500 to Ohio woman after mobile home fire kills her five children. Also donate to the Strawberry Mansion High School a recording studio and help homeless people in Portland. His and example of a man that help others. That’s the reason I admire him so much. He end his career, help others and show them support.  Another thing I admire about him is the way he express about his city, culture and religion. He doesn’t care he’s a black Jewish. In his song he talks about it and the way he feels. Also I admire the commitment with his mother .He is so thankful to her and everything she has gave him.

In conclusion Drake for me is a great example of commitment with himself and success. That no matter your religion or your struggles you have to keep going to became someone in life. And that’s why he is my favourite artist not only for his music that I love also for his way of being as a person.
