THE TOPIC ON SOCIAL MEDIA:

This topic was like a boom in most social medias. I remember people posting articles in favor of the coup and other against. Some people wrote on their facebook statuses and made tweets on their opinion towards what was happening in Honduras.

Videos were running all other internet, facebook, youtube, twitter, and all the social medias we can imagine. Videos that people filmed when they were on their cars and Zelaya´s followers were burning fastfoods like Popeyes, breaking the windows of stores and burning tires.

The side that was against Zelaya, were called ¨Los blancos¨, they always did pacific protest, trying to make the other side realize that the way they were acting was not the right way to make a point, or to make themselves hear.

Los blancos used social media, trying to be Honduras voice worldwide. They post common people opinion towards the situation, so the international organization could see that not only the top class of Hondurans were the ones who tried to stopped Zelaya.

Social media was very important in that time in Honduras, it was the only way were the Honduran people could transmit what they thought and their own feelings according to what was happening in that time.

The Resistencia had a page on Facebook in which they said things against Honduras new government and what was Zelaya´s plan and main goals.

Social media is the easiest way to express what you think and feel. Most of the time is the only way to know what is really happening in the world, because most of the time in the news the truth is twisted in favor of the powerful and the only thing they want is to cover up the truth and try to convince you, with things that usually benefits them.
