When a photograph is taken, its influence is lasting, regardless of its era. Being a photographer is capturing history, such as photographer Gerd Ludwig who photographed the nuclear disaster in Ukraine on April 26 1986.

Photography illustrates this craft. The snap of a single button has enabled us to see political and social history. Photographs has allowed us to better visualization of past history. The photographs help the viewer to better visualize what is happening, it lets them see how life was 100 years ago. Photographs are very important in politics and social life factor . Photography has become very common in recent years. People want to have memories of their vacations / travels, they want to have memories of their newborns , their wedding , family members , and their friendship . The power to make history through photos is impressive. Knowing that people from future eras may someday see our history is spectacular. During the time photography was starting to get known in the 19th century, art critic John Ruskin explained, “The greatest thing a human soul ever does in this world is to see something, and tell what it saw in a plain way.”

Robert Mapplethorpe, created reflective photographs that captured time and history. His images illustrate moments within life, often with shock value, the proof behind his work is to question time. His series of photographs that capture naked human bodies display the similarity within nature wanting to capture specific moments of physical perfection. His photographs are proof of the short lived nature of humanity, and the nature of culture. Nowadays most of us are able to capture history, weather is with your phone camera, a dslr, or a point and shoot. The cameras today are the product of evolution, the first camera obscura became workable in a small box with an optical lens in the hole to achieve a clearer, sharper image. “ Since its invention in 1839, photography's unique powers of visual description have been used to record, report, and inform. People prefer to see things with their own eyes, but when this is impossible the camera can often serve the same purpose almost as well. It is not true that photographs never lie--they can be falsified and manipulated. Nevertheless, a photograph can carry a strong measure of authenticity and conviction. “
