The Story of Jesus – Documentary

“Jesus: The Complete Story” considers such questions as: “Was Jesus dark-skinned?” (“Why Do We Think Christ Was White?“) and “Was Jesus actually born in a cave?”

A computer-generated image of Jesus’ face was created by a forensic artist based on the 2,000-year-old skull of a Jewish man discovered in Israel. “The result is a dark-skinned, curly-haired man with a round, robust face and a stout nose,” a reconstruction that challenges the fair-skinned, fine-featured Jesus images common in western civilization.

However, the documentary goes beyond the image question. It also asks “whether Judas betrayed Jesus to the Roman authorities, suggesting that a mistranslation could mask the fact that Jesus worked with Judas to provoke his own arrest.”

I applaud efforts to shake us from our stereotypes of Jesus. The attempt to reconstruct Jesus’ skin color and facial features is positive and laudable. However, I have strong doubts about the suggestion that Jesus collaborated with Judas to bring about his arrest and resultant death.

A careful study of the Gospels and Acts shows that Judas’ motive for betraying Jesus was quite mundane—the love of money. As the Book of Acts tells us (Acts 1:18), Judas used the money he received to buy a field, probably because he wished to live his life as a wealthy landlord rather than do the backbreaking work required of a day laborer. It was on this “Field of Blood” that Judas soon met his death.

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they come together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

And Joseph her husband, being righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.” Mathew 1, 18:19

Two thousand years ago, someone was born who changed the history of the world, Jesus. He is seen a very begin as the extremely radical revolutionary figure that is going the brain more change that I may have since the time proud.

After life his wondering for the hills intelligence, in Galilee, Judea preaching and live, Jesus with his pray, arrested and beaten until his death.

This film investigates the variety of stories surrounding the New Testament account of the crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, by interviewing historians, theologians and historical researchers. This exploration of the latest theories about what really happened to Jesus 2000 years ago uncovers some surprising possibilities.

At the heart of the mystery is the suspicion that Jesus might not actually have died on the cross. The film concludes that it was perfectly possible to survive crucifixion in the 1st Century - there are records of people who did. But if Jesus survived, what happened to him afterwards?

In John Rylands Museum, Manchester is a Library contains the notice of New Testament. It contains in a piece of paper five lines that if Jesus dead or not in a cross.

When Jesus was arrested by Pilate, Jesus told him that Jesus knew and had kingdom, power and the truth. Pilatus did not what was truth.

Pilate was desperate to keep the peace. His career in the Roman Empire depended on his running the province smoothly and efficiently.

He had 6,000 soldiers on hand to keep the peace in a city bulging with 2.5 million Jews. The religious authorities, whose cooperation he needed for a quiet life, wanted him to execute Jesus and there was an angry mob baying for Jesus' blood.

To release Jesus would have been likely to cause a riot; Pilate could have lost control of the city, and possibly the province.

Pilate sacrificed Jesus to preserve Roman rule and his own career.

And because trouble in that sort of situation is contagious, Pilate knew that he would have to be ruthless in stamping out
