Hidden Treasures of Honduras

Elbert Hubbard, American writer and publisher, once said, “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who just had one.” This couldn’t be truer for the people that are wise enough to visit the vacation spots found in Honduras. With a variety of scenes, climates and settings there is no better choice for a week of family friendly fun than what Honduras can provide. Beaches, towns, cities, you name it and the country has it. Depending on what you like, pack your bags and come to the fabulous beaches of Roatan, the beautiful town of Gracias or learn some Mayan culture in Copan!

Firstly, appealing to all the beach lovers, Honduras has a fantastic treasure by the name of Roatan. Its beach is everything you’ve dreamed of: white sand, clear waters and almost no waves. It really creates the perfect ambiance to just chill by the ocean and take in the sun. However, you may want to leave the kids at the hotel for the night since Roatan offers great nightlife. Adding to that one of the best features found is its great coral reef, known to be the second largest in the world. Nevertheless, not everyone is excited by a vacation on the beach.

Secondly, to all the culture loving people looking for a vacation, Honduras has a great asset: the Mayan world of Copan. Copan is known to be the largest settlement of the Mayan Indians that lived through the fifth and ninth century. What the Mayans built using no machines and no technology is both brilliant and remarkable. Moreover, the Mayan ruins aren’t the only feature of Copan, the city is filled with a myriad of little restaurants and picturesque scenery. In spite of the great finds of Copan, some people choose a more low key place for those people Honduras has much to offer.

Thirdly, there’s a little town in southern Honduras not many people know of. Gracias is a marvelous town where walking around will never get boring and the blisters of your feet will be worth it. Every turn you take, will enchant you as the town that’s stuck in time will not fail to captivate you by its architecture and people. ”Gracias is,” as called by our president, Pepe Lobo, “the heart of Honduras” proving it to be the perfect vacation spot when all you need is relaxation. Besides, there is no such thing as too much fun which is what youll be having when you come here and visit the thermal waters of Gracias. In any case the quaint and homey feels of its inns will charm you so much, you’ll be sure to return.

Summing up, Honduras is greatly underrated. People have no idea what the country is hiding between the mountains. In addition to all the great vacation spots, Honduras is a country so rich in history coming here is a history class itself. Renowned world traveled Alice Bennet once visited this great country. “The best of Central America”, she said in her articles about her traveling, not only should we feel
