What no one knows is how he tried to free himself from that self made prison. He wanted to go out into the light and join the others that he saw running free under the Sun, but how to do that when he had taught himself that the light was his enemy, that it would hurt him?

Like the winter that moves and freezes everything in its way, so he thought he could roam the earth and freeze everything around him. For a while it worked, the gods were kind and gave him enough reasons to remain frozen, but then the ice began to melt on those around him and it frightened and infuriated him, so much so to the point of setting everything on fire and let it consume him as well.

And he set it all on fire.

Time has passed and Oz turned into a deserted land he still roams, all his scars are exposed now, all his darkness is finding its way out into the light and, with no other place to hide, he is forced now to dwell in the light.

This boy has now turned into a man.

His shades are deep dark and his mind is filled with memories of lives come and gone that would torment most people but in him they have found a way to coexist in relative peace and are slowly being put to rest one next to the other.

He sometimes looks down on his creation and ponders if it was what he wanted, whether the boy who came to Oz would have been scared or not of what became of the land he entered many years ago. He often times wonders what he could have done differently to stay the same.

The only answer that comes to mind is nothing. He would never do anything differently because this barren land, all his scars and all of his fights have shaped him into the warrior he’ll become.

His Kingdom was burnt to the ground and it is time to build it again.
