BLACK AND WHITE CARNIVAL IN PASTURE

The Carnival of Blacks and Whites in 2002 declared National Cultural Heritage, held every year in Pasto, an Andean city located in southwestern Colombia, the first week of January, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the country and abroad.

The city of Pasto has been known historically as the meeting point and crossroads of different peoples and colonies.

Considered the most significant cultural event, the Carnival of Blacks and Whites becomes an unforgettable cultural experience

DAY 1

OFFERING TO OUR LADY OF MERCY

"Alborada Our Lady of Mercy"

Offering petition for Virgin favors to successful Carnival.

DAY 2

PARADE OF COLONIES

Pasto resident colonies show the cultural richness of their places as: traditions, myths, food, music and values.

Location: Path of Carnival

Concentration: Avenida Boyacá

DAY 3

Carnavalito - Parade

Children Carnavalito protagonists in popular culture expressed his love for the land, art and Carnival.

Concentration: Small square Atahualpa

DAY 4

"SONG TO THE EARTH" - PARADE OF COLLECTIVE choreographic

Emerge telluric force that invokes the ancestors, is the Song of the Earth, where groups of dancers Andean form large and impressive choreography.

CASTANEDA FAMILY ARRIVAL - Parade

In the parade commemorates the tradition and characteristics of the residents of the municipality, representing folkloric prints that have left their mark on our city.
