Love

Love, is considered as the set of feelings that intensify the interpersonal relationships of the human being which, on the basis of his own inadequacy, the meeting and union with another being to make you feel full. That is what a dictionary will say, but love, like many other things, cannot be described with a simple dictionary definition. It goes beyond words. Is more than just feelings. Is an extraordinary out of this world experience. This brings me to my thesis of the different kinds of love in the world I have experienced.

In Greek mythology, Eros was the god of love. Eros love is an idealized form of love. It is the passionate feeling of Ecstasy experienced at the beginning of a new relationship, where passion and physical attraction are the driving forces. I have experienced that kind of love twice in my life. When I fell in love for the first time with my high school sweetheart Albert and when I fell in love with my husband Javier. With my first love was intense, juvenile and pure. I was a teenager, inexperience and naive. It lasted for one year, after all distance kept us apart, however with my husband is different. He makes me feel out of this world. Since the moment we met until this day our connection, chemistry and love has not vanish in the contrary grow. It has been a joyful ride. Do not get me wrong, life is not perfect and he is not perfect but he is my soulmate, my masterpiece. Through our good and bad, highs and lows and differences we are still strong.

Philo love or brotherly love is the one we feel for mankind and the human race in general. It is an attentive love that brings people as part of a community. It creates a sense of loyalty to friends, family and others. Philo love is what we feel towards our parents, our brothers and our friends, but is love in the sense of affection and protection, in which we cannot allow harm to the ones we love. I love my parents dearly. They have sacrifices so much for me and my brothers. We share a strong bond but now that they are older I keep them even closer. Now is my opportunity to take care of them like they did with me. I cherish every moment of their life.

Agape is a love that nourishes. It is an unconditional love for others which can be compared with the golden rule, in which we treat people in the way that we would like to be treated. Agape love is compassionate, attentive, careful and friendly. It is a selfless, altruistic love. It does not seek pleasure for itself, but it is pleasure and delight in giving. As a mother of four children words cannot express the love I have for them. To see them succeed fills my heart with joy but it breaks my heart when they encounter disappointment. To hear their voices, their giggles and screams is amusing. To see their faces melt me away. They are unique and special in their own ways. One thing is for sure, I will die for them.

In conclusion, the world sees love in different perspectives. Every century and era express love differently. Every country, culture and individual has their own opinions. Time has proven that love exist and there are different kinds of love. Whether we give it, we feel it, we share it or want it is just based on our own experiences. My experiences, my stories, my life. Love is good!
