El Verbo

El verbo es la parte de la oración o categoría léxica que expresa acción o movimiento, existencia, consecución, condición o estado del sujeto; semánticamente expresa una predicación completa. En la oración, el verbo conjugado funciona como el núcleo sintáctico del predicado (si el verbo está en una forma conjugada ocupará en general la posición del núcleo del sintagma de tiempo, y si no de un sintagma verbal ordinario).

The verb is the part of the prayer or lexical category that express a action or movement, existence, achievement, condition or state of the subject; semantically, it expresses a complete preaching, in the prayer, the conjugated verb functions as the core syntax of the predicate ( if the verb is in a conjugated form in general occupy the position of the nucleus of the phrase of the time, and if not a regular verb phrase)

Verbos Transitivos = Transitive Verbs

La palabra transitivo tiene su raíz en la palabra latina que significa "cruzar".

The word “transitive” it has its Latin root in the word which means “cross”

Son verbos que toman objetos directos, se llaman verbos transitivos.

El significado de un verbo transitivo está incompleto sin un objeto directo.

They are the verbs that take direct objects, they are called Transitive Verbs.

The meanings of a transitive verb are incomplete without a direct object.

"She is drinking a glass of water."

("Está tomando un vaso de agua.")

Ejemplos de verbos transitivos (el verbo transitivo están en negrita color verde y el objeto directo está color marrón):

• Could you bring an umbrella?

(¿Podrías traer un paraguas?)

• They bought a yacht.

(Compraron un yate.)

• I read all his books.

(Leí todos sus libros.)

• He teaches driving.

(Enseña a conducir.)

• You promised to take us home.

(Prometiste llevarnos a casa.)

• She plays the drums.

(Ella toca la batería.)

Verbos Intransitivos = Intransitive Verbs

Intransitivo significa no transitivo.

Intransitive means not transitive.

Los verbos que no toman objetos directos se llaman verbos intransitivos.

El significado de un verbo transitivo está completo sin agregarle nada.

The verbs that do not take directs objects are called intransitive verbs.

The meaning of a intransitive verb are complete without adding anything

"She is standing."

Ejemplos

Ejemplos de verbos intransitivos (el verbo intransitivo está en negrita color verde):

• Let's go.

(Vámonos.)

• The kids are jumping.

(Los niños están saltando.)

• Sam is sleeping.

(Sam está durmiendo.)

• We will talk tomorrow.

(Hablaremos mañana.)

• He sits here.

(Él se sienta aquí.)

• Her stomach aches sometimes after lunch.

(Le duele el estómago a veces después del almuerzo.)

Muchos verbos en inglés pueden ser usados como verbos transitivos y como verbos intransitivos.

Many verbs in English can be used as transitive and intransitive verbs.

Quiere decir que puedes usarlos con o sin un objeto directo, dependiendo de la oración.

It means that you can with or without a direct object, depending on the sentence.

Por ejemplo:

• We won!

(¡Ganamos!)

• We won the game!

(¡Ganamos el partido!)

Estas dos oraciones son correctas. El verbo "won" es intransitivo en la primera oración y es transitivo en la segunda.

These two sentences are correct, the verb “won” is intransitive in the first sentence and is transitive on the second.
