Bembos is a Peruvian fast food chain offering hamburgers, often with Peruvian-influenced variations.
Bembos was established in 1988, with its first restaurant opening in the Miraflores district of Lima. Bembos mixes spices into their meat, giving a distinct taste and appearance. As do other restaurants in Peru (even foreign ones), they serve aji (a pepper-based sauce) on the side. Bembos meals primarily come with french fries or yuquitas (made from yuca root). As their website states, they can be found all over the Lima area, including a two-story one on Caminos del Inca. They also offer home delivery.

How was bembos created?
In 1988 a couple of young Peruvian entrepreneurs decided to enter a market so far not widely known in Peru: the market for hamburgers.
At that time there were national chains offering burgers in their menu, but had not developed the habit of consumption of hamburger in the Peruvian public and the country had reached the big international chains. These young entrepreneurs didn`t know the business but liked the burgers and were eager to move forward and had conviction in their project.
Consequently, the June 11, 1988 was born in a rented Bembos the heart of Miraflores and started working in order to prepare the best hamburger in Peru. Success was immediate, as well as excellent product Bembos had a fun, modern decor and excellent service.
Due to this great success in 1990 also it successfully opens unprecedented second location in San Isidro Bembos, thereafter growth will be constant.
When the great international burger chains came to Peru Bembos was already positioned in the market and competition motivated them to be more innovative and efficient, maintaining the leadership in the market.

How was the bembos burger created?
After many trials and tastings the three qualities that should have the burger got discovered : fine steer beef (cattle up to 3 years), then demanding palate pleasing to Peru and is cooked over charcoal.
When the product was approved, they discovered the possibilities of combinations that could be achieved. Thus the first special hamburger today were born "collection" and "La Francesa" made with mushrooms and cheese, "the German"made with sauerkraut and sweet pickles, "the Hawaii" with pineapple, ham and cheese ... and so many combinations that have been offered during these 20 years the public Bembos for everyone.
The starting point Bembos growth was the opening of the processing plant, allowing product standardization and economies of scale resulting from the centralization of distribution. This plant has the latest technology to prepare burgers, sauces, treatment and processing of vegetables and accessories, with strict hygiene and biosecurity.
