The history of music has evolved in such unique ways, although its true meaning has remained intact. Music mains purpose has been transmitting emotions and meanings through music. As we can observe from the beginnings of time humans have tried to convey different types of messages through music, going from romance to anger and even tranquility. Music as well is used in a very wide range, we can analyze this fact, we listen to music when we want to sleep, when we want to study, when we are sad, happy, etc.

Since the beginning of time humans have tried to make sounds to communicate, the evolution of communicating through sounds is called music. Music is expressed in musical pieces or songs. Musical pieces are characterized by being played by orchestras and having few if none lyrical presence in them. Songs are the complete opposite from pieces, we can see how songs have direct messages through words being more direct to its listeners. In contrast to songs pieces are like the poetry of music. The reason to this is that this non-lyrical songs are used to transmit hidden messages through different tones and airs of the music. Airs would be defined as the romantic or accelerated tones pre-established before the piece starts. Though we can see how different pieces demand different tempos and airs or a combination of many.

A great example to musical pieces would be Vivaldi. Vivaldi did a great job of capturing the essence four seasons throughout one of his most famous works. The four seasons are composed of almost 18 different movements spread in 4 different pieces. This movements swiftly express and embody without transmitting a direct message the coldness of winter and the premature life of spring. While at the same time giving the harsh and drastic conditions of summer and the decaying of life through fall.

Following musical pieces and evolving into songs we can analyze slavery songs to understand how music evolved in such ways and still kept the essence of it. In the United States of America genres like blues, jazz, and gospel were born from slave camps. Songs like Go down Moses, express the want for freedom of the slaves. Other songs though capture a more brave and unique meaning. These songs are spread through the blues and jazz as we can go further into its roots.

Though music as a whole has been the fuel of other movements as well like Salsa and Son. Which represent the freedom of other cultures but incorporating the dance into it. A combination of music and dancing is the maximum expression of freedom that humans could achieve, to send different kinds of messages and emotions through it.

As we can see music has different ways of being portrayed. Talking about Vivaldi is remote ourselves to a Renaissance era while Salsa or Blues is early 19 century. Despite all the time in between and all the time ever since music was created, the sole purpose of music itself has been transmitting a message, emotions,
