Define Culture

After reviewing my chart I can see that I need a lot of improvements understanding other people beliefs, attitudes and differences. I am not the type of person that would say no to somebody because of their multi-culture that they may have, but personally and more than likely in a business perspective. I would prefer to do business with a company or individual that would have similarity to my culture background.

Sadly if I continue to think this way, it could affect the success of my business because I could potentially loose clients, because I did not care to connect with them in a way that I would have connected with somebody that has similar culture.

Regarding, feeling, comfortable when dealing with uncertain and unfamiliar in a personal and business situation I believe, I would not feel comfortable, because of my lack of trust that I have, when meeting new people, I do need improvement when it comes to trusting people because it could affect a business transaction with another company or individual.

Me feeling comfortable or trusting somebody new is something that I am currently working on, however I would like to clarify that I am not this way when it comes to meeting new places or new things.

My win-win attitude has a significant strength I am not sure if it needs improvement because having this way of attitude does put a lot pressure on me to do things in a more ‘better’ way than others, or even just better than I have done it before. I do think that there is always room for improvement but when it comes to winning others I normally accomplish this, but then it becomes something very addicting to do and when I do not accomplish it, I can get frustrated. Perhaps I need to have improvement in learning that in some occasions you will also loose and I just need to be okay with it and try to do better next time.

Humility and creativity; I would say that I have a significant strength when it comes to humility. I normally tend to think about others rather than myself, so in business I would not only try to have success for myself and the company I work for, but also whoever is doing business with us can have it as well. I would like to quote a sentence from the book of Cultural Intelligence where Brooks Peterson is talking about “globalization elephant” and says My Hope is that those interactions can be the fairest possible and always mutually beneficial.

Like I mentioned before there is always room for improvement, but I believe that I am fairly creative, I say this because I am constantly doing and bringing new things to the table at the company where I am currently employed, but I am aware that creativity comes with knowledge and I feel that if I continue to learn more and know procedures or even cultural background of people I could potentially accomplish many things in a international business environment.
