SDG Preliminary Ideas

SDG #1:

Life Below Water is important to us because many of our food and resources come from the ocean. The ocean and the life below it helps regulate our climate, provide the air we breathe, is used for transportation, and so much more. Our economy relies heavily on the ocean since there are many ocean related jobs that support the livelihoods of over 3 million people. Additionally, lots of medical products stem from materials in the ocean, ones that can help treat cancer, Alzeheimers, and heart disease. The ocean plays an essential role in life on Earth, and to ensure a sustainable future, we must protect and preserve it.

One organization that we can support and partner with is Danimer Scientific (DNMR). They are a company that creates plastic that are 100% biodegradable and compostable. Their development on biodegradable plastic is significant to marine conservation because it helps with reducing pollution, decreasing harm in marine life, marine ecosystem preservation, and cleaner beaches and coastlines. Danimer Scientific's commitment to developing and promoting biodegradable plastics can encourage more sustainable practices in industries that use plastic materials. This shift towards environmentally friendly alternatives can have a positive impact on marine conservation efforts.

SDG #2:

They also reduce inequality by offering fair employment openings to any background, promoting an indifferent society. Profitable growth is essential because it creates job opportunities, encourages entrepreneurship, helps graduates find good jobs, and contributes to overall economic development. It also helps students develop a global perspective, making them aware of international economic issues and the interconnected nature of the global economy. Also, they align with broader sustainable development objects, enhance well-being, and encourage communal engagement, preparing scholars for a meaningful and prosperous future.

United Nations Development Program (UNDP) UNDP works on a wide range of development issues, including profitable growth and job creation. They work with governments and associations to apply systems that promote decent work and indeed profitable growth. This association is the most useful for our requirements, having a transnational range, being the UN and vast support and recognition, promoting sustainable mortal development, reducing poverty, and addressing global development challenges through their network of governments, associations, and communities in over 170 countries. Areas of focus include poverty reduction, sustainable development, popular governance, extremity response, gender equivalence, health, education, and invention.
