1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
According to the CEFR in this level the learner is supposed to be able to do in reading, listening, speaking and writing the following:
B2 (Advanced 2)
• Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
• Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.
• Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
2. AIMS
ADVANCED 2 Interaction Speaking • Use the language fluently, accurately and effectively on a wide range of general, academic topics, establishing clear relationships between the ideas.
• Communicate spontaneously with grammatical control, adopting a level of formality appropriate to the circumstances.
• Highlight the personal significance of events and experiences providing clear explanations and arguments.
Writing
• Express strong points of view supporting them with arguments and extracting relevant conclusions with accurate use of language.
Production Speaking • Give clear, detailed descriptions and presentations on topics, integrating supporting ideas properly, developing particular points of view and rounding off with appropriate conclusions.
Writing • Write clear, structured texts of challenging subjects, underlining the relevant issues, expanding and supporting points of view with reasons and outstanding examples, as well as giving appropriate conclusions.
• Write different kinds of texts with appropriate sentence structure and paragraph distribution using a wide variety of cohesive devices.
Reception Listening • Clearly understand spoken language, live or broadcast, on both familiar and unfamiliar topics normally encountered in personal, social, academic or vocational life.
• Clearly recognise a wide range of idiomatic expressions.
• Interpret a wide range of spoken language containing complex structures and expressions.
Reading • Read different complex texts with a high degree of autonomy, comprehension and interpretation, selecting appropriate abstract and concrete reference sources.
