The production version of the GT-R debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show on December 6, 2007, with its launch in the Japanese market. The official launch of the U.S. was seven months later, on July 7, 2008. The Canadian launch was also in July 2008. Europe became the third consumer market. The large disparity in initial marketing between these regional releases is because to Nissan should build performance centers where the car has the necessary services.

The Nissan GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT nissan engine, a 3799 cc V6 engine of 3.8 L. The V6 is powered by a twin turbo with no increase in power, but incorporates a new gear boost controller that temporarily increases the pressure, which should deliver more torque in mid to high revs.

Other changes include a titanium exhaust, revisions in suspension, carbon ceramic brake and wheel Nismo 20 inches (510 mm). The total weight was reduced by 60 kg compared to the standard GT-R.

The engine are located behind the address bar and linked by an arrow to the transmition cardan six changes and a return transimition to give traction to the front wheels, this helps the GTR to have better control in tight turns at high speeds, where transmicion contains a double clutch that helps make your changes speed a less than 0.1 seconds.

Reaching 310km/hr the Nissan GTR 35 competes with the same specifications as the Porsche 911 Turbo which is also one of the fastest cars of production in line in the world, surpassing matchlessly.
