THE DANGERS OF THE INTERNET

Nowadays, most of the kids and teens have easy access to the internet, allowing them to spend lots of time online. The internet offers many positive educational and social benefits, but unfortunately there are risks, too. Young people are vulnerable and may expose themselves to danger, knowlingy of unknowingly , when using the internet or other digital technologies. Indeed, some young people may find themselves involved in activities wich are inappropriate or possibly illegal. All this could be controlled if the government censor and in extreme cases banned internet content that is considered inappropriate and by doing this we can have a solution for this problem.

One of the key benefits of the web is that it is open to all, but unfortunately this also means that those with extreme political, racist of sexual views, for example , are able to spread their distorted version of the world. Making it an untrustworthy source of information, and making young people live in a misunderstand world. Letting the society be fooled by inaccurate or misleading information.

While surfing through the web, kids are exposed to whatever material pops up in the screen, from lots of innocent ads, all the way to pornography, hateful or violent stuff that encourages activities that are dangerous or even illegal. Chat rooms are also another form of internet danger. They offer a place where criminals such as rapists and serial killers can have easy access to vulnerable kids, and get all kinds of personal information. There are also lots of cases of cyber bullying, that can damage a kids well-being. The ease of access to online gambling, suicide sites, selling weapon and hacking sites are good examples of websites that put in danger children and teens, and therefore should be censored.

Its true that there are many reasons why sometimes the internet is not all just good. But to improve the quality of what you experience while surfing in the web, there is a simple solution. Censoring and banning certain websites which content is not appropriate to all ages. Allowing everybody to enjoy all the benefits the internet brings to our lives, and making it possible for parents to let kids surf through the web with more confidence. It will be safer for everybody. But since "forbidden fruit is sweeter”, depending on the damage that each website creates, some of them should not be completely forbidden, they might just have a content warning and age restrictions.

Its pretty obvious that the internet is day by day becoming an essential part in our daily lives. As well as we can predict that the next generations will be completely involved with it, now is the time to find a good solution for that problem, so that in the future all generations can be safer. It's a simple step we can make, that will improve, and teach our future society
