GLOBALIZATION

The exponential growth in the exchange of goods , ideas , institutions and people we see today is part of an enduring historical trend. Throughout our history, the desire for something bigger and better motivated us to extend our goods and our ideas to everyone .

Since the term appeared in 1962 , "globalization" has changed cliché jargon . The Economist has called "the most abused word in the twenty-first century . " In fact, there is no other word that means so many different things and has evoked so much emotion . Some people consider it as nirvana - a state of universal peace and prosperity - while others condemn it as a new form of chaos.

If the word is defined and applied correctly , globalization may be useful . He is best understood as a leitmotif of human history . It's a trend that has intensified in recent decades showing its benefits and its destructive power. As the weather has an influence on the environment through the millennia , the interaction between cultures and societies in the past millennia has resulted in more integration of the global community.

Globalization , as defined by Webster's dictionary as a process that converts various activities and aspirations " global in scope or application" things - has been going on for a long time. Thousands of years before the root word - globe - were used, our ancestors had already spread worldwide . In fact , the process of human migration to all continents ( except Antarctica) was a kind of proto -globalization . About 50,000 years ago, Homo sapiens dispersed throughout the pre-modern world and some came to the Americas . When the sea level rose as a result of the end of the last ice age , America and Eurasia were separated and created two worlds not reconnected until Christopher Columbus arrived on a Caribbean island in 1492. Later that year the geographer Martin Behaim constructed the first map as a representation of the Earth.
