Stages

1. Exploring and playing different puzzles. Doing with the language

Explore examples of word games that are suitable to practice specific phonetic aspects of English with the teacher’s help (i.e., Hangman game).

-Identify the words that form the name of the game to predict what they are about (i.e., hang-man)

-Distinguish the distribution of graphic and textual compo-nents and men¬tion their name

-Identify textual components by name.

-Recognize the function of graphic and textual components in the me¬chanics of games.

-Understand the purpose of the game.

Activity

Ask to the students:

1.Have you ever played a puzzle?

2.What kind of games?

3.What do you like about that?

-Write and draw a snake (word snake).And circle the all vocabulary(e.g. plane, cart, boat).

-Identify the name of the game.

-Take a review about the alphabet to practice hangman.

-Play two students the hangman in front of the class.

Reflect about the puzzles.

Do you like the puzzles and why?

What did you discover?

What do they have in common? Knowing about the language

Features and types of oral and written texts.

-Intended audience and purpose of language games: word guessing, deducting, discovering, pronouncing, etc.

-Textual components: letters and words.
