Introduction

An airport is a defined area of land or water completely or partly intended for the arrival, departure and surface movement of aircraft. While small airports , commonly known airfields, short tracks have gravel or grass , large airports available for international flights have paved runways several kilometers.

The airports are in first place of importance in tourism activities and business in each country. An airport is not only her striking physical structure, but the technology used to the attention of the international traffic, customer service counters , efficient immigration and customs services , fast handling and baggage insurance , drug testing and crime , the costs of maintenance and security on people and stealing their belongings, are part of the strategic elements to be considered in the efficient management of airports.

An airport, area of water or land intended for takeoff or landing aircraft . Those public aerodromes are airports with facilities or intensity of air movement to justify the name. Those from the aerodrome or going abroad, where health services, customs, immigration and other are provided, are called international airports or airfields .

Types of Airports

Depending on the type of activity the following airports are distinguished :

Base Aerea

civil airport

Deportivo airfield

Airfield to support public services

General aviation airport

Corporate aviation airport

Airport air cargo

commercial airport

Regional / National Airport

tourist airport

Low-cost airport

airport hub

Depending on the type of flights are two types :

national airport

international airport

Logistics and operation of airports

Airplanes are not the only means of transport in airport area present : a wide variety of different vehicles operating within the airport, with a range of services including eltransporte passenger , freight , baggage, cleaning aircraft . Such vehicles are :

Tractors : who are pushing the plane backwards to separate from the terminal.

Conventional trucks and convertibles transfer : are similar to public transport ferry passengers to and from the remote platform where his flight trucks, and others who have the ability to raise the cabin at a certain height to be directly at the aircraft door .

The baggage cars : are hooked discovered several trucks carrying trailers where the luggage is transported from the terminal to the aircraft and vice versa.

Food Trucks : trucks are attached box in which to carry food from the kitchens flight from the airport or the airline to the plane. Have the ability to lift the box up to the gateway services through a system of dampers.

Cars of airline and ancillary services : are allowed to travel on the terminals and to provide avenues where necessary car maintenance and safety checks on its aircraft carrier , the airport in general and its proper use.

The fuel transport trailers : trailers are as trailer with a pipe in which transport the fuel will have to supply the aircraft before flight .

Drainage Trucks : trucks are extracted waste water used during the flight into health and provide clean water for the same purpose.

The airport vehicles travel through the airport through avenues aimed at them. There are other tracks, dedicated to the orientation of the aircraft at the apron and taxiways at ( taxiway ) . They also have emergency vehicles must be ready at all times to meet an accident or emergency : fire trucks, water pipes, ambulances and police vehicles .
