Mr Otis, un hombre de negocios americano, ha comprado la casa de Lord Canterville. Él y su familia se trasladan allí, donde hay un fantasma, el fantasma de Sir Simon de Canterville quien mató a su mujer (Lady Eleanor de Canterville) en 15.
