MY HOMETOWN NEW YORK CITY

My hometown is Bronx, New York City. I was born at Manhattan and raised at Davidson Ave. at the Bronx, New York. I lived in a six floor building, which still exist nowadays. The apartment I lived in had a back view, in which I enjoyed seeing how squirrels saved there nuts in caves for the winter. I also remember that there was never a boring day in New York City. There was always something happening in the streets, either good or bad. Some days were noisy and full of action, others were quiet and normal. Now that I live at Puerto Rico I miss the seasonal changes in the weather. I used to love to see the trees with their leaves turn into different colors during the autumn season. During the winter, the trees would lose their leaves and looked sad until winter came. Once the snow would fall upon the trees, they seemed beautiful again, reminding us it’s Christmas. During the cold, snowy winters, most people stayed inside, so I mostly played games with my best friends. My friends and I used to enjoy playing cards, checkers, monopoly and others. We also enjoyed watching cartoons together eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. During the summer time we mostly stayed outside playing until late at night. At New York City it is daytime until 8:00pm and I remember we would have a reason to stay outside until late playing games like: hopscotch, skating, jumping rope, and others. Most of all, my favorite season was spring when the weather was just right, not to hot, not to cold, just perfect. Nowadays, I remember my childhood with nostalgic thoughts of the wonderful and exiting childhood I had. Despite this fact, I would not move back to my hometown. I have been living at Puerto Rico for many years. I have a house at Puerto Rico which is mine, and I also have a son who was born and raised at Puerto Rico. My son will be graduating from the Metropolitan University this June and it makes me proud and joyful to live at Puerto Rico.
