Javier Gerardo Milei is an argentine economist, politician, and teacher.

Javier Milei was born in the Palermo neighborhood, Buenos Aires, on October 22, 1970. His father is a passenger transport businessman, and his mother is a housewife; Also, he has a younger sister named Karina.

During his adolescence, from 1987 to 1989, he was a goalkeeper for Chacarita Juniors in the lower divisions, even becoming part of the professional team. Also, he pointed out that he decided to study economics for the “wrong” reasons but fell in love with it for the “right” ones. Milei said that he also sang in the band Everest, which he played mostly music by The Rolling Stone.

He has a degree in Economics from the University of Belgrano, with two master's degrees.

On April 22, 2022, Milei participated in the press conference in Mendoza, where he promoted her candidacy for the 2023 presidential elections.

On August 2, 2023, through a live broadcast from his Instagram account, Milei presented his final government plan, which he proposes to carry out in the event of being elected president in the next elections, which provides for a "drastic reduction" of the public spending, dismissal of political positions, tax reduction, the elimination of the Central Bank, and proposed the massive promotion of private works financed by the private sector.

 On August 13, 2023, Milei was the individual candidate with the most votes in the 2023 PASO, exceeding 30% of the votes throughout the country.

Milei was also the first candidate to win the PASO without winning in the Province of Buenos Aires, while he achieved victory in 16 of 24 districts, many of them historical strongholds of Peronism. Milei obtained his best result in the Province of Salta, where he reached 49%, almost half of the votes. After these results, he was empowered to participate in the 2023 presidential elections.
