“the negotiator”
The seven elements of negotiation we must organize a conversation mentally to face it beneficial. One way to improve the position of each in the negotiation is to use the method of the seven elements In any negotiation it travels through the stage of preparation for the meeting, the actual negotiations and the subsequent analysis of it. It is in this context that the method of the seven elements is more than useful. The points referred to this method of trading are:
• Interest: the outcome of the negotiation must satisfy the interests of both parties. While both parties must give must know it for best results and this is achieved if the negotiations are satisfied with their interests.
• Options: not necessary to have a narrow focus, exit of the idea and generate options because the more options we have, the easier it is to negotiation. The options are possible agreements or parts of a possible agreement.
• Alternatives: Before signing a deal should have a clear idea of what else we could do for a good result should be better than any alternative.
• Legitimacy is to try to support what you are saying with a credible means, find external standards we can use to persuade others and also acts as a shield for us.
• Communication: It is important to have a good two-way communication. Think that is what we want to hear and that is what we say.
• Relationships: you must have some idea on how to build a relationship to facilitate agreement, rather than hinder it. We also have to try to separate people from the problem and so do not ruin relationships.
• Commitment: is essential as it is to define the operational to finalize the agreement. Think in advance the specific promises that, realistically, we expect, or do during or on completion of negotiation.
To analyze the seven elements in the film we decided to take the two protagonists, separately, in order to analyze better.
Danny Roman
We believe that the interest is chasing Danny out who killed his partner Nathan and who framed. With respect to the options and consider alternatives that do not have too many because it is so blinded you can not hear what Sabian offers, it only requires a kidnapper because of its position.
The big problem facing Danny is standing, because there is no support or affirms what he says. No way to prove by any means 1, he did not kill Nathan and 2 that put a trap, finally gets some recordings that set some kind of legitimacy, as the hostages heard as Niebaum said that Danny was indicted on purpose .
Danny is very concerned to discover the informant, as he maintains that it alone can say what Danny said. There is, at first, a very good communication between him and Sabian but is related to the situation, because the situation puts one far above the other and in some cases communication is going in one direction. Finally manage to understand and come to good communication.
Danny does not care much to generate some kind of relationship; he just wants to get the informant to be contained within it. It is also important to note that he chooses Sabian because they just do not have any relationship with him because he thought were his friends who had betrayed him.
With regard to the commitment we noticed that Danny turned everything it promised, he promised to release a hostage in exchange for the electricity and when he got the same, release.
