Simple Present

This tense is used to talk about daily activities, routines and their frequency that you or others are involved in.

Subject + Verb +Complement

  • I speak English with you

Subject + Auxiliary (Don´t/Doesn´t)+ Verb +Complement

  • He doesn´t speak Italian.
  • We don´t watch tv in the evenings.

Present continuous

Describe actions that are opepening at the momento

Subject + tobe + verb + ing + complement

  • I am eating chicken
  • She is watching TV

  • I am not eating chicken.
  • She is not watching tv.
  • We are not studying spanish.

Past continuous

Describe actions that are hoppening at the past

Subject + Auxiliary(was-were)+ verb + ing + complement

  • I was dancing last week

  • I was not dancing last week
  • He was not playing video game
  • They were not swimming in the river

Simple future

Used to predict an evento at the future.

  • He Won´t cook later

Modal Verbs

Would

Used to describe talk about states and hypothetical facts in the future.

Subject + would + verb + complement.

  • I would like to eat spaguetti
  • I would like to travel to Europe
  • She would like to run in the park

Subject + would + not + verb + complement.

  • I would  not like to eat spaguetti
  • I would not like to travel to Europe
  • She would not like to run in the park

Would + Subject + + verb + complement.

  • would  I like to eat spaguetti?
  • Would I  like to travel to Europe?
  • Would She like to run in the park?

First condtional.

It is used in situations where a condition is met, it is probable that a result Will be given.

If + Condiotion (present simple) + result (Will + base verb)

  • If Will stay at home if it rains this afternoon.
  • If go to the supermarket later, I Will buy some tomatoes.

Second conditional

It is used to talk about unreal, imaginary and improbable situations

If +subject + Verb in past simple + complement, + subject +would + verb + complement.

  • If linda was here , i am sure she would help us.
  • If I knew  how to solve this problem, I would do it.
  • If you tried to give up smoking you would feel much better.

  • If I didnot study hard, I wouldn´t pass my exam.
  • If we didn´t go to their party next Friday, our Friends would be  really angry.

They are used to define specific actions or states.
