IT JUST A TELEVISION THING

Television was invented by John Logie Baird who was the most remarkable inventor in the early history of television. He invented the first mechanical-electric television system called Noctovision in a period of three years from 1924 to 1927. It is one of the greatest inventions of the 25th century, invading all the homes around the world with the power of channels you can be in any part of the world and know what is happening. But is television a good or bad invention?

My parents used to tell me about television back in the 70’s. It was a luxury to have one. At that time cable wasn’t invented yet they had two or three channels and the good thing about it was the families got together to watch television in the living room also the whole neighborhood watched the same programs so always was something to talk about the next day but. When the television was introduced to the market it was just in black and white no colors. In the upcoming years the technology developed more advances like the remote control so you could change the channels in the comfort of your sofa and not anymore standing up or asking the little one of the family to change the channels for you. When color TV was invented, it was a great improvement now you could see everything in colors.

Another good thing about television was it created new jobs such as: broadcasting companies, cameramen, actors, directors, maintenance, video editing, sound engineers, etc. Television started new careers for people. For example, people who love theater now could perform on television, people with skills in editing now could have a new choices to study at colleges and university. It opened a entirely new market and that helped to grow the economies of all the countries that have access to this “Luxury”.

In the other hand there are some negatives things about it. One of them is that people start having one television in each room, everybody could watch in their own bedrooms so wasn’t a family thing anymore and also people stop doing outdoor activities because the variety of channels and comfort people choose to stay at home and just watch television, to the point the inventors create a new sofa called “Lazy boy” so you can stay all day watching TV in your living room. Another negative thing about the television is the quality of entertainment in these days anyone can be and have a show on TV from people that just go to party a lot to people who live in the country side.

Television has become a money maker machine and it is all about who can make more money with the private life of regular people or just creating drama for more rating. The times of educate and try to unite the family are over the only way to stop this machine is stop using it but are you willing to give it up?. All television is educational television. The question is: What is it teaching?
