“HORSE WOMAN”

I was born in the Chinese year of the horse so my principal characteristics are being adventurer and cheerful. For that reason I’m changing house many times. One of the places what I can remember where I lived with my family is Paulina, It is located at outside of the big city .We had a little house and we had to share everything for example the bedrooms and bathrooms despite this problem, I remember it because in that place my parents got married, in that moment I was seven years old, I’m the fourth children in my family. Once day my sister got sick, there wasn’t any hospital around of the town, my father went with her to the nearest town and it was Keeler, the trip took 5 hours from Paulina. My sister was hospitalized for a long time, we haven’t a telephone to communicate with the others so my father could not talk with us and my mother was worried because they were so far and we did not know anything about the health condition of my sister therefore she took the decision to move for Keeler.

My mother rented a house in Keeler but we came here with a surprise, she was pregnant, she had 8 months so we stayed here one moth more until the baby born. The health of my sister improved progressively, she only had fever. Time went and my sister get better completely and my mother was ready to calve the baby, my father took and carried her to the hospital where my sister was. She got in emergency because she was sweating a lot. We were at waiting room suddenly the doctor out and approached to tell us that my mom and the baby were good, she was a girl. My father chose Magdalena like the name of her, he worked instead of my mom because she was in repose but at Keeler there were no jobs for my father and we needed money to the spending on the baby and us. He felt uncomfortable with the situation hence he called to a friend for his help due to he worked in a factory.

My father’s friend lived at Loomis into the city so he left Keeler to earn enough money, he stayed there for 2 years and rented a department on Loomis, once again we moved to another place but at that time we lived at the department on the third floor but apparently this was in bad conditions however we remained for the job, we did not have any options. We continued living there for 2 years more, but my parents decided to go to another place as usual. We had to leave Loomis because of the water pipes broke and the property would not fix them because the department was too old. We were using the washroom next door and carrying water over in gallons. That is why we moved into the house on Mango Street, far away, on the other side of town. It’s small and red with tight steps and windows so small. There is no front yard, only four little elms the city planted by the curb
