It’s no surprise the big effects that music brings into our lives. Some bring strong good emotions and others bring sad and anger into our minds and soul. But in a majority of the music genres, this change only stays in the back of our minds once we come intact with reality. But I am not going to talk just about another music style that tries to make money. I’m going to talk about when music had a voice. Not just music that stays in our heads, but comes out and changes the world. Music that brings us together as people, music that actually standS for something bigger than dying young, Y.O.L.O nights and pure insignificant sex. But most music genres have been distorted into that insignificant desire leading us all to the edge of nothingness. Allow me to introduce you to how music has changed the world with its uniqueness, its old past and its simplicity…good or bad. And my main focus will be on reggae, its styles and its descending genres, one of them being reggaeton.

In My first article I could understand in depth when reggae was born and what was it for. Reggae has been known for its simple and unique sounds famous in the little island of Jamaica. Reggae has inspired many world changing liberation moments such as the fall of the Berlin wall, in which the people started singing "three little birds" for hours. Also the civil war in Nicaragua, the celebration of independence in Africa and many others. Reggae music inspires me to believe that between this cruel reality, everything will be alright. Sometimes we think that reggae is just reggae, but it also has four main styles known as ska, rocksteady, reggae roots and dancehall. It surprises me how much Reggae has inspired us to do. I think this is what happens with general music and people, we are not willing to learn the history and the struggle behind the music roots.

Another article that caught my attention was the influence of one of the greatest reggae legends of all time( Bob Marley) on people. First of all, I am a big fan of Bob Marley and his albums. His words of liberation, love and free expression made me see the world as not such a bad place. In order for him to get to the top was not easy, but he started making lyrics, bringing the world's attention to political instability, social injustice, poverty, crime, war and freedom. His songs were even used for political campaigns, uniting everyone as one. His music helped society
