Friends & The Internet

The story begins with four best friends from high school, all of sixteen. These friends were chatting during the recess and the girls were excited about going to the movies. The boy, Carlos, was focused and interested with his cell phone. After Cinthya, Fiorella and Fabiana have planned a night to the movies and have decided what movie they would like to see and what time they would see it, Carlos just said that maybe would, because according to him had more important things to do. His eyes were concentrated on what he was doing in his cell phone. The girls sighed deeply and returned to their classrooms after recess. At 6:30 Fiorella went to Carlos's house to go to the movies together because that was the deal. Fiorella entered the house very happy when she realized that Carlos was sitting at the computer in his bedroom playing video games. Carlos was not ready, had not realized the time. Carlos was surprised by the arrival of Fiorella and invited her to pass the next level of a video game he was playing. Fiorella was puzzled, asked an explication and reminded him that he has three good friends who want and need him. She mentioned he had to enjoy these free time with his friends and do something productive and entertaining. She also claimed, as Carlos has stopped hanging out with his friends by his obsession to the Internet. Carlos was silent and said that he had no desire to go. Cinthya had finished dressing up, then went to pick up Fabiana to her home. Fabiana was sitting in the computer that was in the living room with the headphones on. Fabiana was a studious girl and liked to read online scientific articles. This time, Fabiana was watching a documentary of Humpback Whales. Cinthya was a bit interested to see what the documentary was about but she realized that it was late and they had to go to the movies. Cinthya hurried Fabiana to take her wallet and turn off the computer. Fabiana desperated told her that her eyes hurt of being much time on the computer, she turn it off, said goodbye to her parents and left. Cinthya, Fiorella and Fabiana finally met each other at the movies, they paid for the tickets and while waiting for the movie to start the girls talked about Carlos. The girls were somewhat puzzled because Carlos had not gone with them to the movies. Irresponsible! Bad friend! Lazy! Whenever man! Girls shouted. Moreover, Carlos realized his mistake. He thought he had good friends who were waiting to go out with him and he just ignored it. It was about to start the movie when Carlos appeared trying to find his friends around the room. Carlos asked his friends to apologize and try to fix his situation. He promised that he was going to enjoy every ride with them and was going to stop using the internet every day. He realized that spending a lot of time on the computer made him vicious and video games had made Carlos an insensitive
