  1. Do some research on the main characteristics of both Latin and Anglo cultures, and make a mind map based on your findings (differences and similarities).

Think about your local business environment and look for six typical situations where these characteristics may play an important role in business communications.

Restaurant

When you go to a restaurant with a client to negotiate and the differences of culture creates an uncomfortable environment for the other's behavior.

When you expect one type of food but when it arrive realized it’s different and prepared different too

Pharmacy

When a person needs to find medicine and the worker don’t find it this makes a controversy and a discussion

Schools

When you go to ask for information about it but you only accept to talk to the principal

When you see that the education system is different then other place

Banks

When you need to get money or a loan

When you realize that hours or politics money is different

Street

When you have and appointment and realize Street signs and laws are different

Negotiation

When doing business you need to know the way of negotiation from the other part and culture

When you’re doing business and go to another country and negotiation with a women

Design a solution strategy or intervention to deal with the cultural conflict in each of those six situations. You may use Hofsted's cultural dimensions.

Power Distance Index (high versus low).

School

Team members will not initiate any action, and they like to be guided and directed to complete a task. If a manager doesn't take charge, they may think that the task isn't important

Individualism versus Collectivism.

Avoid giving negative feedback in the time of the negotiation, wisdom is important.

Suppress feelings and emotions that may endanger harmony.

Masculinity versus Femininity.

Negotiations

Analyze correctly where is the city of negotiation and there culture to see if you can send a women for negotiation or a men

Japan is a culture where all children (male and female) learn the value of competition and winning as part of a team from a young age. Therefore, female team members are just as likely to display these notionally masculine traits as their male colleagues.

By comparison, Sweden is a very feminine society, according to Hofstede's model. Here, people focus on managing through discussion, consensus, compromise, and negotiation.

Uncertainty Avoidance Index (high versus low).

Pharmacy

Know that different cultures have different moods, keep in mind that avoiding uncertainty is not necessarily the same as avoiding risk
