The robotics so popular but unknown.

By Fernando Angulo

Today many people still think that robots are machines with physical appearance similar to a human, being they can be often in science fiction movies, and that robots do not exist, without knowing that the reality is totally different and that these meet a important role in the production of all the devices that define our way of life and that in the near future could replace us in almost all activities. The purpose of this paper is to provide an approach to the robotics so popular but unknown.

The Robots are automated machines with the finality of implement specific tasks of repetitive type, however Hiroshi Hiyama Afp reporter from Tokyo says in his article intelligent robots "think" before acting, that "a group of Japanese scientists has designed intelligent robots able to think, learn, and decide how to carry out their tasks before taking action", I think that it not is even possible or only is nearly development. Robots can be classified into different types according to their function or purpose, there are robots mobile, those can move with wheels, caterpillar (system used by military tanks or heavy machinery) or legs, according to the number of these we could talk about robot bipeds, quadrupeds and hexapods among the most common, on the other side, are static robots, which are mounted on a fixed base, an example of these are the robots that assemble cars, and finally robots androids or anthropomorphic, that is to say, human-like robots that can perform basic actions such as understanding voice commands or orders, walking, stairs, examine and recognize objects, among other simple tasks. Now, the fact, that a robot achieve activities that we have to do is tempting, because, we would get rid of those routines that sometimes consider boring or stressful and we would have more time to spend with family or doing things that we like, but on the other hand it is the fact that the industry would prefer to have a robotic plant which demands less money for production, what I want say is that it would increase the unemployment rate, because the work realized for 10 people can be made by one or two robots that never set tired, not discuss mistakes and not have to pay protection or pension, many of the companies that have decided to automate (a term used to indicate the absence or no human intervention) processes in their plants say that they have sent to the people that before done the work achieved by robots. We must also take into account that we would tend to be even more inactive and which would impact on our health.

In conclusion I think that the use of robots should only be applied in scenarios of high hazard to humans or in situations that demand high precision in manufacturing or the robots is cataloged only as a support tool for man but not a replacement.
