I wake up every morning hoping it is Saturday then I realise that it isn’t and I have to go to school today then my stomach hurts and I start to get a headache, I ask my mum if I can stay home and that never works. I don’t understand why I have no friends or why the kids at school and that pick on me and call me names. They steal my lunch and I have to go hungry. Is there something wrong with me or is what they say true? I remember my Mum and Dad telling me of all the fun times they had at school and all the good mates they had. When will this happen to me. I think I am a victim of bullying? Should I tell someone a teacher or my mum? Would it make it better or make it worse?

Does this sound familiar? Has this happened to you? This is bullying and today I to speak about – so let’s get started.

Okay, you are probably wondering what the different types of bullying are? Statistics show that there are six different types of bullying: Physical, Verbal, Indirect, and social Alienation, intimidation and last but not least Cyber Bullying. Verbal Bullying is the most common because it is not as easily noticed as physical. Bullies bully because it makes them feel better and tougher than everyone else! Also they do it because they have been bullied at some point in life and feel like they need revenge. It might also be attention seeking.

When you bully someone you can call them fat, but it doesn't make you any skinnier. If you call someone stupid, it doesn't make you any smarter. If you make somebody want to commit suicide, or make them depressed and think badly about their life, it doesn't make you any stronger. So you should think about bullying before you do it as it won’t make you any better and you will destroy somebody else.

Some people that have been bullied all their life decided to take the only way out that they believe will end the bullying and commit suicide. Suicide! That just shows how out- of- hand bullying can get, bullying is that serious!

You may think now – wow – how can you stop bullying when you can barely see it happening! The best way for you to make a start is to talk to your friends and have a discussion in your class and make a set of rules to put an end to it. Talk to the principal about Anti Bullying teams, where students can report to the team if they are a victim or they see any bullying happening.

Remember everything I have told you today and you will not be a bully or not be afraid to stand up for yourself! Just be strong, keep your head up high and do your best to stop bullying once and for all! Remember, school Bullying is EVERYONES business! And if you are a victim of bulling remember you ARE NOT alone, thank you for listening and GOOD LUCK!!!
